I have wanted to email you for a very long time to tell you how much your articles have resonated with me, helped me validate myself. Less than two paragraphs into this latest article I knew the time had come to tell you that I have never, EVER found another website (or book which I own best money I ever spent, I think) that so encourages, supports and reinforces me. And I have a LOT of books, and a lot of browser bookmarks. And I unfailingly find what I need at traumahealed.com.
You are a gift to the world, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.January 20, 2016

I have been reading a lot of your articles and want to take the moment to say a heartfelt THANK YOU. For me, reading you has meant finding a gentle and compassionate voice that gives words and names to many of the feelings and experiences I have felt.
The unvarying kindness, wisdom, allowance and validation within your words are proving vital in my own journey of healing. I am especially aware of the quality of holding a space in which I can reclaim my own self-worth and human dignity despite what happened.

Sonia Connolly is by far the most powerful healer I have experienced. I am always amazed at the feedback and insights she gives after a healing session – be it a direct hands-on or even a distant healing. She has helped me with healing my parents on the other side of the World, in India, and with some patients in L.A. When I am faced with the most difficult situations with any of my patients, she is the only healer I turn to. She is very intuitive and gentle and one feels totally at ease under her healing hands. She has been the reason I kept faith in myself through some of the roughest patches in my life emotionally and spiritually.
I am sure every person who gets a treatment from her will confirm what I have said. Blessings,

I am so used to putting on a happy face for everyone else. You really saw me and heard me and yet did not reject me or wish I was different.

I have read endless things from scholarly articles, text books, to words from healers and super spiritual approaches to trauma, nightmares, etc. Wellspring of Compassion is one of the best. It is just scientific enough and just "woo woo" enough to give a well rounded perspective, and like another reviewer said, endlessly kind and comforting. It validates the reader while also offering solutions. The author offers examples and theories while still validating the reader's experience and process. It has everything I could want in a book like this that I have found lacking in others.

I have Wellspring of Compassion perpetually open on my iPad. I love the chapters about what to do when you're triggered right now and you need emotional support. But really, every chapter is a winner. I've read it completely three times now. Lots of great references to more reading at the end of each chapter.

Jenny Davidow, author of “Embracing Your Subconscious”
Wellspring of Compassion is a refreshingly kind, practical and compassionate guide to the difficult inner landscape of trauma and recovery. Each chapter invites the reader to start from where they are as they identify and work through difficult emotions and memories.
Written for anyone who has suffered trauma in the recent or distant past, the book gives support and practical guidance to those who are ready to begin their own recovery, or to deepen their recovery by neutralizing old triggers. I was surprised that the book touched on all the areas I've studied over the years, and it answered lingering questions about: a harsh inner critic, anxiety, flashbacks, dissociation, anger, shame, and why boundaries are so difficult for people who have suffered trauma.
The author, Sonia Connolly, is well-acquainted with all the facets of trauma and is trained in Somatic Experiencing, based on Peter Levine's work with trauma. Her topics and suggestions create a thread that ties together the different manifestations of trauma, with insight and information drawn from both personal experience and many experts in the field.
Wellspring of Compassion provides a masterful view of the many facets of trauma, while at the same time offering kindness, compassion and warmth. Non-judgmental and non-clinical, Wellspring of Compassion will give you the tools and resources to shift from mere survival to being able to compassionately reconnect with yourself, your body, and your life.

Sonia delivers the perfect mix of healing modalities. She provides a safe space for me to open up and then gently moves my body toward healing. Her work is deep and gentle and just exactly what is called for.

Short version:
One of the best massages I've ever had in many years of getting massage. I scheduled a 60-minute massage. 20 minutes into the massage, I was getting such improvement in back pain that I asked whether we could make it a 90-minute massage. She did extend the time and it was really worthwhile. And I don't usually feel immediate improvement from a massage!Details:
Sonia was very good at getting tight, painful muscles to relax. Her massage technique uses very smooth and gentle movements -- nothing abrupt or startling. Besides the pain management, I get massage because it feels good and her massage is really enjoyable and soothing. She was also very encouraging about giving her feedback: if anything hurt or if I didn't like something she was doing -- that way I got exactly the kind of massage I wanted. Her whole process makes it a safe experience emotionally.
Her table is very comfortable -- the best face cradle I've ever encountered: very cushy. And the sheets are flannel, so I was immediately warm and cozy. I also got a warm rice bag for my feet - I was in heaven.
